Be it on dating apps, gaming, or even workplace communication tools, women and men experience the digital realm differently. When online, girls and women can find themselves vulnerable to online harms such as sexual harassment, sextortion, and revenge porn.

At an IWD panel hosted by Booking.com on Embracing Equity Through Technology, CEO Simran Toor stressed that employers can also be a part of the solution by educating employees on how to be responsible digital citizens. It is particularly important for workplaces to build a respectful culture and create a supportive environment where reports of bad behaviour are taken seriously, it’s important that corporations put in place clear terms of conduct.
